Built a fully integrated, web-based retail management system for the Medford Food Co-Op from the ground up, replacing costly proprietary software with open-source solutions. The system covered point-of-sale, inventory management, accounting, and hardware integration — all running on a self-managed Linux network.

• Network Infrastructure:

  • Deployed and managed a local network of 25 computers running open-source Linux
  • Maintained system stability and security across all workstations and servers

• Point-of-Sale System:

  • Implemented and customized the open-source ISC4 POS platform
  • Developed a custom credit card terminal interface integrated directly with the POS
  • Integrated barcode scanners and weight scales for produce and bulk department pricing

• Inventory & Label Management:

  • Built a custom web-based inventory management system
  • Designed and implemented a dynamic label printing system generating barcodes, pricing, and PLU data
